The date for the upcoming WWE Super ShowDown 2020 in Saudi Arabia has now been released. The event will take place on Thursday 27th February at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.
This is the second consecutive year of Super ShowDown, a pay-per-view professional wrestling event, in Saudi Arabia. Last year’s event took place in June and was headlined by Goldberg and The Undertaker.

What is the WWE Super Showdown?

Why Does the Super ShowDown Event Take Place in Saudi Arabia?
A 10-year multiplatform partnership was formed between WWE and the General Sports Authority to support Saudi Vision 2030. This plan, revealed in 2018, aims to promote social and economic development in the country.
Super ShowDown 2020 follows the announced expansion of this partnership, agreeing to hold 2 major events in the country each year until 2027.
The first Super ShowDown was preceded by the Greatest Rumble which took place in April 2018. Super ShowDown followed in June 2019.
What to Expect at Super ShowDown 2020
Although the full line up is yet to be announced, viewers can expect some of the most well-known faces in WWE at Super ShowDown 2020.
On January 30, PWInsider.com reported that Famer Hulk Hogan, one of the biggest stars of professional wrestling, had been booked for the event.
The following contests have been confirmed on the match card so far:
- Brock Lesnar vs Ricochet – WWE Championship
- The New Day (Kofi Kington vs Big E) vs The Miz & John Morrison – SmackDown Tag Team Championship 4-way match
Although not officially confirmed, other predicted matches include:
- Braun Strowman vs Shinsuke Nakamura – Intercontinental Championship
- Kevin Owens & The Viking Raiders vs. Seth Rollins & AOP
The 2019 event was noteworthy for having the largest number of participants in a battle royal, a fight between many combatants until one person remains. Fifty-one wrestlers took part and the match was won by Manssor from Saudi Arabia.
It is not yet known how many participants will take part in the Super ShowDown 2020 battle royal.
How to Watch Super ShowDown 2020
Super ShowDown can be viewed on the WWE Network which costs $9.99 a month in the US. It is also possible to watch WWE pay-per-view using a local provider.
Tickets for Super ShowDown 2020 are not yet for sale and the price is not known. As an indication, tickets for the 2019 event started at 25 SAR (6.60 USD) in the family section. The highest-priced ticket was in the VIP area and cost 750 SAR (200 USD).
Most WWE fans visiting Saudi Arabia from other countries to watch the Super ShowDown live will require a visa to enter the country. The quickest and easiest way to obtain the permit is to apply for the visa online.
Once approved, the tourist eVisa is emailed to the applicant to be printed at home and presented with a passport on arrival, with no need to attend the embassy or consulate in person.
