The visa to Saudi Arabia for Spanish citizens will allow Spanish passport holders to travel to Saudi Arabia for tourism and will be available through a simple application form online.
Up until recently, only pilgrims were allowed to visit the holy cities of Mecca and Medina for religious purposes, whereas business visitors with sponsoring employers were able to visit the country with the exception of Mecca and Medina.
It has not yet been announced if non-Muslim tourists will be able to visit the cities of Mecca and Medina with a Saudi Arabian eVisa. This information will be published on this site when the Saudi Arabian eVisa is fully implemented.
The Saudi Arabian government made the decision to fully implement tourist electronic visas after successfully trying out the eVisa program through a pilot project in December 2018, when 1000 international visitors from 80 different countries entered Saudi Arabia to take part in the Grand Prix Formula E event that took place in the capital city of Riyadh.
