Saudi Arabia is expanding tourism to the Kingdom through the implementation of its tourist visa for over 45 nationalities, including Danish citizens. The Saudi Tourist Visa was implemented in September 2019 and is available through a quick and easy online application.
On completion of the online form, an approved tourist visa to Saudi Arabia from Denmark is sent to the applicant’s email. This eliminates the need to visit a Saudi embassy or consulate in person to obtain travel authorization.
Once approved, the visa is valid for 1 year from its date of issue. Travelers may visit the country multiple times during this period for stays of up to 3 months (90 days) at a time.

How To Apply for a Saudi Arabian Visa for Danish Citizens
The Saudi Arabia visa application can be easily completed online by filling in basic information about the applicant. It is important that all sections are accurately completed and that the applicant double-checks the data before submitting the form to avoid the eVisa being denied.
It is necessary to complete the online form with the following information:
- Passport details – nationality, passport number, expiration date
- Personal information – full name, date of birth, residential address
- Travel itinerary – planned entry and exit dates, flight details
It is also obligatory to answer a few security-related questions in order to submit the Saudi visa application form.
After all required sections have been completed an online payment made via credit or debit card is required to submit and finalize the application. Following confirmation of online payment, a successful candidate will receive the eVisa for travel to Saudi Arabia via email.
Applicants should allow up to 72 hours for receipt of the eVisa from the time of submitting the application. The visa can be used multiple times over 1 year from its date of issue. After that, if a Danish citizen wishes to return to Saudi Arabia it will be necessary to submit and obtain a new eVisa via the online application form.
Documents Required to Apply for a Saudi Arabian Visa from Denmark
In order to submit an online application, it is necessary to meet the following Visa Requirements for Danish citizens traveling to Saudi Arabia:
- The Danish passport must have at least 6 months validity from the date of entry to Saudi Arabia
- Applicants must indicate a current email address to which the approved eVisa will be sent
- They must provide one passport-size photo, dimensions: 200 x 200 pixels or 2.08 x 2.08 inches
- The Saudi online visa fee must be paid with a valid credit or debit card.
The payment of the visa fee includes the automatic purchase of medical insurance for the duration of the Saudi visa. Medical insurance is mandatory and will cover up to 100,000 SAR in medical expenses but no extra fees will be charged.
Be mindful that the mandatory medical insurance for Saudi Arabia covers emergency cases only. All the insurance companies providing coverage as part of visas are approved and certified in Saudi Arabia.
Please ensure the passport details entered on the Saudi Arabia Online Application match those of which you intend to travel with, otherwise, the eVisa will not be valid at arrival. Upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, the Danish citizen will need to present both the eVisa and passport to gain access to the Kingdom.
Visa Requirements for Danish Pilgrims to the Hajj and Umrah
Each year millions of pilgrims from around the world travel to Saudi Arabia to journey to Mecca. Danish citizens wishing to undertake the religious pilgrimages of Hajj or Umrah in Saudi Arabia require a special visa through a separate process to the online visa. As a pilgrim, you will be expected to go through a specialized agency, company or entity such as the Saudi Arabian embassy in Copenhagen.
Applying for a Hajj and Umrah visa for Saudi Arabia from Denmark requires providing a range of supporting documentation during an embassy visa appointment. Danish citizens who have converted to Islam and do not have a Muslim name will be required to provide a certificate proving they are a Muslim, while all applicants are required to provide proof of return flights.
The Hajj and Umrah visa for Danish citizens permits a total stay of 14 days in the country and is valid for one month from the date of approval, for purposes of religious pilgrimage only.

Although Danish citizens are not able to travel visa-free to Saudi Arabia, the online tourist visa application makes it incredibly easy to obtain travel authorization for tourism.
